The Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to host its first-ever mega auction as 277 players — including 194 Indian and 83 overseas cricketers — head into the auction pool on Thursday. The list features several top stars such as recent World Cup winners Deepti Sharma, Kranti Gaud, and Shree Charani, alongside international names like Laura Wolvaardt and Sophie Ecclestone.
Teams and Squad Requirements
The five franchises — Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz — will compete to fill up to 73 total slots, including 50 Indian and 23 overseas players. Each team must have a minimum squad of 15 players, with a maximum cap of 18.

Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, both of whom retained five players each, will not have the Right To Match (RTM) card available at the auction.
