Kohli Aims for IPL 2025 Orange Cap, Hazlewood and Arshdeep Eye Purple Cap

Marsh and Kohli Move into Top Five on Orange Cap Table

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured a spot in Qualifier 1 after defeating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the final league match of IPL 2025. The victory also saw Virat Kohli and Mitchell Marsh make significant moves on the Orange Cap table.

In a high-scoring match, Marsh returned to form with a blistering 37-ball 67, helping LSG post a challenging total of 227/3. His performance, alongside Rishabh Pant’s strong innings, was a key part of LSG’s effort, but it wasn’t enough as RCB chased down the target with eight balls and six wickets to spare. Kohli contributed with a steady 54 off 30 balls, setting the stage for Jitesh Sharma to finish off the chase.

With this knock, Marsh ended the season with 627 runs, jumping to No. 4 on the Orange Cap table. Kohli, who is set to feature in the playoffs, is just behind him at No. 5 with 602 runs. At the top of the table, Gujarat Titans’ B Sai Sudharsan continues to lead with Shubman Gill and Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav close behind.

No Major Change on the Purple Cap Table

Despite Josh Hazlewood still recovering from his shoulder injury and not playing in this IPL season, the Purple Cap table remained largely unchanged. Noor Ahmad of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continues to lead the pack with 24 wickets, followed by Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna with 23, and Mumbai Indians’ Trent Boult in third with 19 wickets.

Hazlewood, with 18 wickets, sits fourth but will have a chance to climb the table once he plays in the playoffs.

The IPL 2025 season has seen some fierce competition, and as we head into the playoffs, these standout players will look to add more to their tally in the coming matches.
