RCB attempt to rewrite history on Tuesday

Backed by Fans Across the Globe, RCB Attempt to Rewrite History on Tuesday

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the heartbeat of IPL cricket, is on the brink of history. With a loyal global fanbase behind them, RCB will look to clinch their first-ever IPL title against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday.

The energy is infectious, driven largely by passionate fans, unforgettable memes, and sheer optimism. Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik have fuelled the excitement, while pundits like Nasser Hussain humorously predict Karthik might become “unbearable” if RCB wins. The only thing missing now might be Shakira serenading “This Time for RCB!”

Fan Frenzy Like Never Before

The RCB fandom is unmatched in creativity and passion. From humorous marriage proposals (“I want to marry an RCB fan because they’re always loyal”) to unique superstitions—such as dipping jerseys in holy waters of the Kumbh—the dedication is unparalleled.

Even AB de Villiers, an RCB legend himself, humorously confessed his superstition around uttering the famous chant, “Ee Sala Cup Namde” (This year, the cup is ours). It’s more than a slogan; it encapsulates years of emotions, hopes, and even a few heartbreaks.

Fans haven’t just stuck to social media; they’re organising special screenings in Nepal, while auto-rickshaw drivers in Bengaluru have offered free rides to those proudly donning the RCB colours.

“This is definitely our year. Match days are a big deal at home. The team’s form is fantastic, and we’re backing them all the way,” said Parshuram, a Bengaluru auto driver giving free rides to jersey-clad supporters.

Ahmedabad Set to Turn into Mini-Bengaluru

Despite denials from BCCI, Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), and RCB management regarding special fan arrangements, Ahmedabad is likely to see an overwhelming RCB turnout. Thousands of Virat Kohli and RCB fans will flood the stands, chanting “AAR CEE BEE!” in unison.

“I actually booked my tickets before we confirmed our spot in the final,” admitted Yashas MT, an ardent RCB supporter already stationed in Ahmedabad.

Captain Rajat Patidar appreciates the fans’ devotion. “No matter where we play, our fans make us feel at home. We’re grateful for their incredible support.”

RCB: Most Followed Cricket Franchise Worldwide

RCB isn’t just a cricket team; it’s a global sporting brand. With over 20 million Instagram followers, it is currently the most followed cricket franchise in the world. The team witnessed a 25% increase in followers since March 2025 alone.

In terms of engagement, RCB has achieved a stunning 1.8 billion social media engagements in 2024, trailing only behind global football giants Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

“We’re blessed with a fanbase that’s among the most passionate worldwide. They inspire us to set new benchmarks in fan engagement,” explained Rajesh Menon, RCB’s COO.

Unwavering Optimism Among Fans

Unlike aggressive football rivalries, the RCB fanbase is celebrated for its positivity and tolerance. Win or lose, their optimism and creative social media interactions are guaranteed to continue.

Tuesday’s final is more than just a cricket match. For RCB fans worldwide, it’s a chance at redemption, history, and the sweet taste of victory. After 17 years and three finals, the fans’ relentless support might finally culminate in the elusive trophy, proving once and for all that indeed, “Ee Sala Cup Namde!”
