Mohammad Shami is rehabbing at the NCA after recovering from his ankle surgery.
India pacer Mohammad Shami has denied rumors of an injury. They say it could cause him to miss the upcoming Test series against Australia (BGT 2024) due to his rehab at the NCA.
Shami has not played cricket since the 2023 World Cup final on November 19. Surgery was necessary for his ankle issues. Since then, he has been recovering and getting care at the NCA. Recently, Shami told the reporters at the NCA that he won’t return to action until he is positive that he has totally recovered.
Earlier reports said Mohammad Shami would return in the Ranji Trophy for Bengal. He would then play a Test against New Zealand to prove his fitness for the Australia Test tour.
On October 2, 2024, several news outlets reported that Mohammed Shami had a new knee injury. He would be out for a minimum of six to eight weeks. This cast doubt on his ability to compete in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2024–2025.

On X, Shami wrote: “Why are there so many unfounded rumours? I’m putting in a lot of effort and doing everything I can to heal. Neither the BCCI nor I have mentioned that I am out of the Border-Gavaskar series. I request the public to stop paying attention to such news from unofficial sources. Please stop and don’t spread such fake fake fake & fake news, especially without my statement.”
