Dhruv Jurel, Yash Dayal, and Sarfaraz Khan were dropped from the test squad to compete in the Irani Cup.

The BCCI has dropped Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, and Yash Dayal from the Indian Test team. They will play in the Irani Cup in Lucknow. The match, between Rest of India and 2023-24 Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai. Will take place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium starting Tuesday.

Former India captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Mumbai team. Ruturaj Gaikwad, a batter for India and Maharashtra, will captain the ROI squad.

Sarfaraz Khan, a middle-order batter, will join the Mumbai team. His younger brother, Musheer Khan, will not be there. Musheer is recovering from injuries sustained in a road accident last Saturday. He was traveling to Lucknow with his father and another person from Azamgarh.

Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel and bowler Yash Dayal will join the ROI squad. Their participation in the Irani Cup was conditional upon their availability. The organizers made them available for the domestic tournament. The team didn’t need them for the second Test of the ongoing Test series between India and Bangladesh.

The Irani Cup will be a key platform for domestic players. It will let them showcase their talent and seek national honors.
